Nordic Archaeological Abstracts

Post by taxelson »

A list of Dendro-related archaeological abstracts are found on http://www.naa.dk/web-index-guests/sear ... itet=&tid=. Some of them may be of interest.

For instance I just read an article in Fornvännen I did found this way, about the excavations of the prehistoric bog site at Alvastra, in Östergötland from 1978. It contains diagrams of a floating oak and elm chronology. http://fornvannen.se/pdf/1970talet/1978_213.pdf. Surely there are more of interest, and maybe accessible some way...

I did an interpretation of the diagrams by Bartholin from the Alvastra pile dwelling. The chronology is floating, and the datings are according to relative dates in the article, where year 1 is the first year of building activity found at the site. A map for the site at 58º17'59"N, 14º40'30"E is found by the link http://www.taxelson.se/js/L.htm?58|17|5 ... d%2022%3A1 . Detailed files are in the attachment.
