Dating of various objects

Post by Lars-Ake »

There is now a new section on cybis.se/forfun/dendro under the heading "Miscellaneous:". See the section "Various dated objects".
Here is a direct link (though it will open in the same window as this): Various dated objects

The four dated items are:
1. Ships timber from the Finnish sailing ship Aimo stranded on the coast off Nämdö in 1898.
2. Firewood from 1619 found in a cellar in the Old Town of Stockholm. Same age as that of the Wasa ship!
3. Part of a cottage at Dalarö in the Stockholm Archipelago. Dated to 1725 though bark surface not present.
4. Timber that "blessed the coast" and was used in the wall of a barn. Probably a plank used to cover the cargo space of a ship. Dated to after 1750 and originating from the coasts of the the Gulf of Bothnia.
Measurement data available in four .rwl files.
