SelbuPCAB, Picea abies chronologies from Selbu in Trøndelag, Norway AD (1460)-1555-1937, by Per Eidem, Published 1943[1] and digitalized by Arne Andersson. 63°13′N 11°01′E

sel184 is a mean chronology consisting of cores from 13 buildings in Trøndelag, not only Selbu, covering the timespan 1488-1874.

  • 36 Luddumo, Selbu 5 logs
  • 37 Nedre Solemshaugen, Selbu 3 logs
  • 38 Botn, selbu 6 logs
  • 39 Stiftagården Trondheim 6 logs
  • 40 Dronningens gate 25, Trondheim 3 logs
  • 41 Bakke church, Trondheim 3 logs
  • 42 Hans Nissengården, Trondheim 6 logs
  • 43 Røset, Selbu 6 logs
  • 44 Eidem (Brennan), Selbu 2 logs
  • 45 Leikvolltrø, Selbu 7 logs
  • 46 Stiklestad vicarage, Verdal 3 logs
  • 47 Vuku church, Verdal 8 logs
  • 48 Lo church, Åsen 8 logs

In the chronology also is included the material from Storvollen, Selbu (sto183) and its very old dry spruce (1460-1860), which is also available separately (from an other publication) as sel49[2]. Unfortunately the two measurements of the old dry spruce is not very similar. Maybe at least one of them contains errors. The section before 1555 may therefore be removed.

This shows that this chronology may be very useful for dating high altitude spruce samples from the central Scandinavian mountains.

sel49 0,21 3,67 285 1460-1860 Trøndelag Selbu, Dry spruce

According to this test, we may assume that a mean of vol178, sir179 and hog178, covering 1786-1935, may be useful for dating samples from a bit lower altitudes.
