Re: Mersea chronology (AD 445-661) - England

While searching the web for roman pines chronologies (impossible!), I quickly retrieved an oak chronology from Crummy P., Hillam J., Crossan C. 1982, Mersea Island: the Anglo-Saxon causeway, in Essex Archaeology and History, 14, pp. 77-86 (http://cat.essex.ac.uk/reports/EAS-report-0023.pdf). Since ...

CooRecorder does not display numbers any longer, why?

Question: ...my copy of coorecorder recently stopped showing numbers associated with ring width measurments. That is, I click on the ring, and the appropriate + mark appears, but there is no number with it. The crack markers, and the two markers per ring function also do not have any numbers. Any s...

Windows names my files xxx.TXT and not xxx.RWL

Question: I'm hoping you can tell me how to copy decadal files from ITRDB so I can access them with CDendro. I tried pasting one downloaded file onto WordPad and saving it as #####.dec and then as #####.rwl, but Windows stuck a .txt on there and CDendro won't open it. First three lines look like thi...

Re: How to measure a suite of photos taken from one sample?

Collecting and exporting CooRecorder point-labels Some users add "pointLabels" when measuring in CooRecorder. Typical marks are for a fire scar or a sudden decrease of growth rate. Collections with such synchronized .pos-files can be saved in the .fil format of CDendro. The labels can be ...

Re: How to measure a suite of photos taken from one sample?

The second option works well for me especially that I do have some sections scanned to higher resolution. There are also minor drawbacks. For example, the point labels are lost when creating a mean value curve. Also, when you match the 2 parts and no ring overlap (stop measuring at one ring and sta...

Checking or unchecking a big group of collection members

When you are working with a collection of many members - even thousands of members - you might want to "export" a big group of members all e.g. longer than 100 years to a separate Heidelberg or Tucson file. To do this you have to first uncheck all members with the "Uncheck all" b...

How to measure a suite of photos taken from one sample?

There are two basic ways to do this with CooRecorder and CDendro: 1. Copy all the photos together - without any careful overlaping! - and measure from the big photo. Where you have to "jump" to the next photo in the suite, use a "double-point", as described at http://www.cybis.se...

Re: Matching sample in Tucson format to reference curve?

Thank you for the support, I was able to perform the function.. It has been extremely useful! I am still learning the program. I have two related questions. First, once such a sample is cross dated, can the file be saved into a Tucson format with the correct years? Also, if the curve has been adjus...

Matching sample in Tucson format to reference curve?

I have just purchased the CDendro program. All my files are in the decadel Tucson format. When I try to match a sample to a reference curve, it appears that the sample must be in the coordinate (.pos)format. If so, how can I use my Tucson-formatted samples in this procedure? Open your Tucson-file w...

Re: CooRecorder cannot find the image file

I'm afraid my first question starkly reveals my ignorance of computers. Indeed, this question is probably more about my computer than CooRecorder. At any rate, when trying to open a coordinate files with CooRecorder, I get the following error message: Cannot find file C:\Users\Barry\Pictures\Fulbri...
