Re: How to account for reversed segment

I have a core, already glued down and sanded, in which there is a segment about 10 rings long that is reversed. Is there any way to deal with this in CooRecorder or CDendro? Hello Seth, CooRecorder is written to sort your measurement points from the start point (i.e. youngest ring at index 0) and o...

Re: Big images can be opended on 64 bit machines.

Just found out that a 9800 by 18000 pixels .tif image stored as 520 MB on my disc can easily be opened in CooRecorder on Petra's 64 bit machine running Windows 7 with 6 GB memory installed. So it seems that the CooRecorder's memory problem has been much released when using a modern 64 bit Windows ma...

Documentation on CDendro & CooRecorder

I have recently updated several sections at http://www.cybis.se/forfun/dendro . There is now also a new section http://www.cybis.se/forfun/dendro/detrendandnormalize/index.htm on Detrending, Normalization, Discrimination and Autocorrelation. Edit April 2016: For CooRecorder bluechannel information, ...

On calculating bark widths separately for later processing

Got this: Hi Lars-Ake, I have a problem with some .pos files that I have created, and I wondered if you would be able to give me some advice. I have a dataset of approximately 3600 cores, which I wanted to analyse using basal area increment. I measured the cores, and I have created chronologies usin...

How to use CDendro: Skeleton plotting

A few users have had a problem with finding out how to activate the skeleton plotting mechanisms in CDendro. Under the heading "Using CDendro:" in the left column of http://www.cybis.se/forfun/dendro there is now a new section "6. A demo with skeleton plotting". Here is a direct ...

Re: Removing non-zero rings

Recently I got the question below which is somewhat related to the subject of this thread. When adding mutliple zero-rings, it appears there is a limit to how close together they can be added. For example, if I insert a zero-ring at ring number 15, the next "individual" (for lack of a bett...

How to measure only the five outer rings?

Today I got a question on how to measure only the five outer rings of a number of samples. Measuring just exactly not more than five rings is a very special case that nobody else has asked me for! I understood that the questioner had tried it and found that it does not work in CDendro! That is becau...

Re: Removing non-zero rings

Within the TEST version of CDendro 7.5 there is now a mechanism for removing a non-zero ring. There is already a mechanism for inserting a zero-ring (right-click on the curve) and for removing a zero ring (shift-right-click on the zero ring on the curve). When there is no zero ring, then a shift-rig...

Re: Removing non-zero rings - .POS files

When it comes to removing rings originating from a .pos file, the case is much easier: Note the ring number in CDendro. That number is also normally shown in CooRecorder. So alt-tab to your CooRecorder session and update your measurements and save the file again (with the same name). Then alt-tab to...

Re: Removing non-zero rings

It happens often that I find an extra inserted ring in one of the series and I need to remove it before adding it to the target collection. Is there an efficient way of doing this? Right now I crop the series into two parts (leaving out the extra ring), I then save each part as a .wid, than I reimp...
