Old Scotch Pine trees at the island of Nämdö

These photos show old Scotch Pine trees still growing on the island of Nämdö in the Stockholm archipelago. Such old trees are usually found at inaccessible places like very rocky or marshy ground on the inner part of the island where they have been left from forestry.




The pictures above show the oldiest guy found... born around 1582... These photos were taken in the summer of 1997. The tree was then 416 years old.
