What´s new in CooRecorder development version?
News as of December 2009

The development/test versions of CDendro and CooRecorder are currently available to all customers who have recently bought the base system or upgraded.
Seeing the year numbers during measurement
Within the development/test version of CooRecorder there is now a mechanism for dating the measurement series.

Dating can be done in two ways:
1. dating of the outermost ring
2. dating of a selected ring which has been identified as a known pointer year

When the series is dated, year numbers will be plotted for every 10th ring which may be useful when many more pointer years can be identified.

The dating command is accessed either via the Y key (Year!) or via menu command More/Set year (Y)
When you later insert points around the dated ring, the year number of the ring will not change.

Retrieving data from a published ring width curve
The mechanism for "Catching the ring width data underlying a plotted curve" has been extended. For a description see Help text on how to convert a curve to tree ring data

A new tool - CrackMarker - to use when a crack cannot be easily traversed with a double-point. Help on using crack marker points

Various Help lines
The AutoPlace mode is now improved. When you have set the start point, a thin line will connect that point with your cursor to make it easier to see where to set the end point. A perpendicular line is also drawn which should be parallel with the tree rings at the best position.
Sort of a ruler/Help line/Support line can now be set so you can afterwards use that line to measure along. When the help line is set, a perpendicular crossing line is also plotted. When that line is parallel with the tree rings you have the best position for your line.

Please note that after setting the starting-point, when you have that rubber band alike line attached to your cursor, then you may very well use the arrow-keys of your keyboard to scroll the picture - or even use the cursor to click on a scrollbar to make the picture scroll.
